Unrequited love

“Because what’s worse than knowing you want something, besides knowing you can never have it?”
― James PattersonThe Angel Experiment

“To burn with desire and keep quiet about it is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves.”

“Because, if you could love someone, and keep loving them, without being loved back . . . then that love had to be real. It hurt too much to be anything else.”

  1. Preach it Cessy! Love your perspective. I feel the same in my turmoil of similar and scattered emotions throughout my life. I want to add that while growing up we worry, ponder, stress and have an inner burning feeling that something is going to happen really soon. During this period we remain stuck in this mental spin for approximately 15 years then realising that we missed everything that might have been an academic, financial, emotional or even a spiritual opportunity with the mindset, “I know now and I need to start over this instant and this time and I am not going to miss them.” You know what? You do this same crap all over again on a new adulterated and bold level. Once again, it’s coming. Don’t ever ask me what it is.

We keep these things in our minds for so long. The ones we have no control over. The ones that do not reciprocate or have the exact result we are looking for. We hold on to these thoughts and feelings for so long. If we keep this up our life would turn into a complaint every Monday morning. In a while it would be too late and our life would come to a grinding halt and little or nothing can be said at our elegy.

We really do need to prioritise and put our life – feelings and thoughts into perspective. Our time should really be spend recognising them and focusing on what should be the obvious – the positive and controllable principles and ideals to live by.

In the meantime, I’m going to have lunch and look at the Syrian conflict on CNN.
